The portraits I create are a celebration of my queer family. I celebrate the quiet moments that we share, when we are able to just exist together. I explore the present moment with the kind of reverence typically reserved for the past. I am fascinated by the importance of the here and the now in intimate, queer relationships; I contemplate the ways in which time can be savoured and preserved. Time and space are intrinsically linked, thus setting and place are deeply important to my work. Our construction of time in the domestic sphere differs from the ways in which we exist in the greater world; it is my aim to capture the quiet sense of self and place in domestic environments. Light and space are integral to my process as I ground my portraits in space, but also in the specifics of a moment in time through light.
